Don't Miss It
This is an X-Ray of a 12 month old child with many soft tissue injuries who was said to have fallen after riding a tricycle.
This is unfortunately child abuse. The radiograph shows multiple rib fractures with callus formation including a fracture of the 2nd and 6th ribs posteriorly. These findings are highly suggestive of child abuse. Furthermore, 1 year olds are unlikely to be riding a tricycle (milestone for 3 years of age).
