Hidden
You are a radiologist and get several X-rays sent by the emergency department for young men in their 20s with chief complaint "arrested by law enforcement." You sigh.
This is internal concealment of drugs or bodypacking. Most commonly, cocaine or heroin is sealed in packets and ingested (50-100) for later retrieval. Patients can be asymptomatic and brought in by law enforcement, present with a toxidrome from a ruptured packet, or present with symptoms of gastrointestinal obstruction or perforation.
