Bean


It is May. Twelve hours after accidental ingestion of the substance shown above, a 4 year old boy complains of fever, chills, headache, nausea, and back pain. His skin turns yellow and his urine becomes dark.

Challenge: What's the diagnosis?

    G6PD Deficiency, sometimes referred to as Favism.

    its true...whenever i see these at a farmer's market, i can only think of G6PD.

    This is favism or G6PD (glucose-6-phosphate dehydrongenase deficiency) causing acute hemolytic anemia.
