Challenge: You're a radiologist; the team ordering this film gives no clinical information. What's your best guess to the diagnosis?
This is a small bowel obstruction; the plain upright abdominal radiograph shows dilated loops of small bowel with air-fluid levels consistent with SBO.
Toxic Megacolon?
ReplyDeleteSBO. adhesions, crohn's and hernia are mcc for adults. enteric tube in place.. not able to find any signs of volvulus or other aunt minnie.
