Tracheal Stenosis is visible on the x ray.. the causes can be multiple, but this is a steeple sign, which is present in croup, (paramyxovirus infection)... this child would be coughing like a dog barks...

The steeple appearance of the trachea suggests bilateral subglottic tracheal edema seen in croup.
