No Man is an Island
The Rock of Gibraltar sign is characteristic of bilateral subpulmonic pleural effusions. The elevation of the lung bases with an abrupt drop-off laterally on the frontal view and posteriorly on the lateral view give an image similar to the limestone promontory off the Iberian peninsula.
