Matchmaker
This is perfusion-weighed imaging of a MRI shortly after a stroke. The red area represents infarcted brain tissue, and the green area represents penumbral “area at risk.” This is hypoperfused tissue that is not yet infarcted, and could be salvaged if blood flow were restored. The difference between the red and green represents the “perfusion mismatch.”
