This gentleman is getting a sleep study. One of the waves noted on the EEG looked like this:

A delta wave is shown. Delta waves represent stage N3 or “deep” or “slow wave” sleep. These waves have a low frequency (0.5-2 Hz) and high amplitude (>75 microvolts).
